More than twenty international fashion design students utilizing their creativity and culture showed us their looks on this catwalk. Overall, forty-three different designs were presented with an explosion of color which also transmitted a sense of joy. An exotic vibe ran through the runway as the designers explored their unique views on dresses, pantsuits, and gender-fluid menswear. The show highlighted this new generation’s creativity which is grounded in the idea that no matter where you go, you should still be fashionable and, at the same time, comfortable.
The designs provided a series of vibrant and saturated colors that combined neon tones and floral patterns. The fashion show’s aesthetic was aligned with Miami’s glorious weather, consisting of the ubiquitous sun shining over hot afternoons and evenings. Designs included oversized pieces, an emphasis on cutouts, the vintage style of the 80s and 90s, and up-cycling, which managed to make the reused fabric into new fashionable pieces.
